Lets see some Hinderer action

@chazzyp that is a ton of snow!! And a sweet machine. We usually have more snow than in the pic I posted yesterday. I got up to about 1' of snow yesterday and i was fish tailing pretty bad, but with the tracks on it's a whole different machine. Not much can stop it. We just haven't had enough snow this year to justify installing the tracks. Here are a couple pics from last year at the same spot. (With a knife pic in between). If you have the funds i would definitely recommend a set of tracks.

It should be interesting to see how popular it gets.

Anyone know the price range? Are we talking standard XM18 or maybe higher like all Ti MP-1?

Looks like a great flipper! I really want to like that handle shape but I just can't! Love the sheep's foot blade though...

I felt the same way until I held one. The way it gets wide at the end of the handle feels really good when you are holding the knife. It kind of reminds me of a SNG grip, and that's high praise. When I held the MP-1 for the first time I thought, "Ok, this is a knife I can put to work". I'm really happy with mine I've carried it every day for the last 3 weeks.

I'm slowly realizing i like a lighter detent on my hinderers...my first 2 had fairly heavy detents and have a very snappy action...the blade flies open thou you can't use the studs at all...so that's what i became use to..hell my spear i had to alter the flipper a lil cause between the pointy part and jimping it would kill your finger even after broken in.

My last 2 xms had very light detents that i tweaked but are still to the light side...my skinner i can use the studs on....its got a very smooth action now..not as snappy as my spear and slicer but really smooth...flips just like the mp1....https://vimeo.com/199925440

I agree with you Bro. I love being able to flip them with the thumb studs. 2 have a light detent and 2 flip like a rocket but wear a hole in my finger.

Interesting to hear your opinions on the detents. I'm fairly new to Hinderers, having picked up my first last Fall. That 3.5" XM 18 had a pretty light detent and it took just a bit of practice to master the flipping technique, but I really like the way it comes out now and I can fire it hard with the studs too. I got a Sparrow a little while ago and it has a much stiffer detent and theoretically should flip out better, but actually seems to require just the right pull-through technique to flip well. If I don't get it just right, the flipper almost doesn't depress at all. I can get out out really well by sweeping hard off the point but after a while my finger feels like it has a hole right through to the nail. The detent is softening up bit-by-bit and the knife is much more finger friendly now. I'm with you on the lighter detent thing, for sure.

It's funny how two of the same knives can be so different, but I guess that's just welcome to the wonderful world of Hinderers. I'm really getting into them, though. Just what I need, another high-end knife brand to cut holes in my wallet.

Here's mine so far, still missing a Skinner, the new Maximus and the Eklipse Gen 2, all of them have great detents and flips so smooth, really happy with hinderer, it has become my favorite brand, I now EDC the Wharnnie, had to put the Rockstead off
