The "accidental" project. (apologies for poor pic)
This was to be a custom picture frame made from Australian Northern Silky Oak.
Half way through I dropped the glass! (Butterfingers!)
The 2 I/C wanted a better knife block for the kitchen so I made this up.
Used the saw on my old Eco Camper to cut the slots for her Vics!

But what is the purpose of the filework itself on a hook? Anesthetics or some practical use?

It’s a nail file like the ones Victorinox does on a few models like the Compact and Traveller, but I’ve also used it for other materials since it’s stainless and hard tempered enough to cut other stuff in a pinch.

It's weird that nail file isn't on every hook, it should be.. IMO

Agreed. And I hope they start making them in the newer style like on the Cadets. The cut style is much better than the older spark erosion type.
