For me an edc should double as a knife that can handle basic wilderness related tasks..idealy because that will be the one that is most likely on you when nothing else is.. But it should also have a wee bit of charectar so let's see 'em

Here are the ones that get the most pocket time in my current rotation

Thanks! Since I made that one for myself I`ve redesigned them to eliminate the rear screw.

I've been using this one alot lately. Its a Kershaw OD-1. I know, its hollow ground and it has a thin tip, but I like it anyway!

Its made many feather sticks and even carved a spoon out of poplar a little while back. The 14c28 maintains a great edge for woodwork and takes no time to touch up. The handle shape is neutral, and works in a variety of grips. The blade profile is simple and just works for everything from carving spoons to peeling apples. And one of my favorite features is that it opens quickly without having a thumb stud or conventional flipper to get in the way.

I REALLY like this blade.

Don't normally carry the flashlight during the day and the Farmer I gave to my girl. Looking to get a custom to replace the Izula but it's my go to right now. I'm actually thinking about getting rid of my Koster bushcraft because I want an edc for all purposes including woods bumming. I brought the larger knife with me camping this last weekend and didn't even use it.

When I posted my OD-1 earlier I was just thinking about my EDC pocket knife.

I just got this from Koyote a couple of weeks ago and its been my EDC fixed blade stowed away in my man purse. So far I've used it for all sorts of chores around the place, including kindling and fire prep, striking ferro rod, and some light carving.

In this pic, using the tip of the blade to "rough" out my spoon cavity. You can see where I'd started to hollow it out with coals, but I needed to go a little deeper with the blade before I used fire. Even though its not a classic bushcrafter blade shape, this knife really works great for these types of tasks.

Here you can see the entire spoon (I know it looks rough!)

These pics are just for fun.

SOme nice selections guys.. Lets make this a little more relevant so it doesn;t get relocated by adding in addition to your blades how theere usage relates to potential wilderness tasks..
For me Obviously the Saks in addition to having great razor sharp blades Bothe have usable wod saws which can both be uses to process small amounts of wood, but also to produce sawdust that is strikable with a ferro rod.
teh slip Joints all have multiple blades whcih enable me to go for longet periods with out needing to sharpen my mani blades. They are also great for whittling and each of them has at least 1 blade that is design specific for cleaning game. also they ar carbon steel and thusly can be used in to produce sparks via the flint and steel method ( don;t try that with your safe queens....) largely for me the slippies and smaller sak are sheeple friendly.. a big plus when edcing something in the city.

here's mine... i have been EDCing a Benchmade mini Griptillian for many years now.. it has served me well... here it is with a Landi MPS..

You drinking or just typing fast? :D

I've actually been gravitating more and more toward EDC sized blades for wilderness use. I feel that 2 1/2 to 3 inch blade is all I need for what I do. Of course that's usually paired with a hatchet or saw.

Who ate the grippy's scale? That card looks similar to 3-d shoot cards. What's it for?

ha.. i rescued that Griptillian from a friend of mine, who used to use to open his beers...:o it was to small for him anyhow...

the card was/is for a 9 hole "archery golf" course, that we get to shoot once a year.. there is a big weekend long 3-d traditional archery shoot we go to every year in Sept. and they set this course up.. it is a blast, we look forward to it every year..
