Lets see those Battle Saws!

We really need someone to take a picture of one of these alongside the recent ASHBM! I don't have an ASHBM, or I'd already have done it myself (with a NMFBM and FBM too).

I decided to skip the ASHBM, but this was irresistible! I'm curious how similar / different the Battle Saw is to the ASHBM. There are obvious differences like CBT vs. flat ground, ~0.24 vs ~0.34 thick, saw back vs. none, etc. But it'd be interesting to see some side-by-side pics (spine shots too).

Just got my Battle Saws in. I'm pretty surprised by them. I didn't realize they were so much thinner than the normal ASHBM. I measured the BSs at .25" and the ASHBMs at .31-.32". The BS seems like a winner. I haven't used one yet but....WOW does it feel good. I wish I hadn't recently sold off my standard ASHBM LE. I'd love to have a group pic with all 4 together.

I have to add that Beef has been doing an AWESOME job with the sharpening lately. My last 4 knives came sharper than any previous Busse. Nice job buddy!!

Beef is to be sainted here soon, I hear the tequila and scotch flow like water at those events... lucky duck

Nice!!! :D Thanks for those pics guys! As I suspected, the BS is wider than the ASHBM, and looks like a bigger knife (though it's most certainly lighter being only ~70-75% as thick).

How does the distance between the Talon holes compare? Looks like they're closer together on the BS?

They're closer together by about .100 on the BS

Here's some pics with my Custom Shop NMFBM LE (0.274" thick).

And some spine shots showing the difference in the handles. If the BS handle was much smaller, my hand wouldn't fit. :foot:

Took this one with a flash to show in between a bit better.

This one has instantly become a keeper! Definitely don't plan on ever selling her!

My Battle Saw measurements are:

11 1/8" blade (tip to handle scales)
16 1/2" OAL
0.243" thick INFI
2 3/32" blade height (saw tooth tip to edge, that's a tiny bit more than my NMFBM!!!)
734.2g (25.89 oz)

This one WILL go down in Busse history as one of the coolest, best Busse knives EVER made!!!  :D

Nice pics fellas!

I didn't realize the BS was so close in size to the NMFBM.

I'm still waiting on my blk micarta/sage... but this one looks to be epic.

.

This one's for Jerry! :D

I know it's not JWB, but it's the next best thing! ;)

im soooooooooo glad I got one of these. one of the best battle mistresses ever!

I was just thinking the same thing. It might just be the honeymoon phase right now but I don't think so. I think the BS is going down in history as the most useable BM ever.

Yup I totally agree with Blade Runner, ordered 2 and thought I might sell one-Negative will keep and use both, The best Mistress since the the FBM in my opinion-Great Knife
