Lets see those Battle Saws!

how is it as a user?

I have not used it yet - but I did a couple off slicing comparisons on cardboard with the ASHBM pictured -

As I expected the thinner stock on the BS allowed it to slice easier than the thicker ASHBM -

I also expect the BS to chop more deeply for the same reason. I have not weighed the knives, but the BS seems heavier.

My pleasure, sir! I hope your BS is in your hands ASAP!

Love my BS but after pics in this thread, its looking like a stripper might be the way to go. Need another one!

On a side note, has anyone felt like the micarta was milled differently than other Busse blades? No biggie but my edges seem a little sharper than what I'm used to.

I always take a piece of 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper and smooth out the edges of the handles near the fasteners. Works great and no biting!

Petey, that stripper looks awesome

I'm kinda new around here, and haven't seen any other good picture of stripped infi.. Does it all look like that underneath?

Still waiting on my first Busse, the SHe-2, and I'm considering stripping it when it arrives, so any input is welcome. Thanks!

Thanks Daniel & everyone else...trust me the pleasure was all mine...:D:thumbup:

Daniel, welcome to this great place! :)

All INFI has dimples at one time or another...of course satin blades have been ground, sanded, & polished down past those porcine pock-marks...

And it greatly depends on the model as to where the dimples are left remaining...

As in some models, the primary grind will effectively remove a lot of the dimpling...Like the NMSFNO, they're almost satin beneath their paint...I think FFG's are mostly like this, Saber grinds seem to have quite a lot of dimpling left behind especially toward the spine, & choil behind the plunge...

Also the size and randomness of the dimples is quite, well, random...

In addition, some blades have long striation marks & other random "character" marks which are ALWAYS very cool ...

There's LOTS of stripper pics <blades, not poledancers :o> here...

Type in the model you're interested in and get to searching...also, Google images is your friend...:)

Here's a link to a SARsquatch I recently stripped...ENJOY! :

Great, thank you guys for the responses and the pictures! Very helpful

Those all look really nice, which makes me even more excited to get my INFI :D

Also, I think I might need a Battle Saw now too  Gotta find a way to scrape up some cash

Hogs posting pics of super clean strippers: are you media blasting your Battle Saws to get them so clean? Process?

Just put it in the trough & it gets licked clean. :p
Or maybe it's a lot of elbow grease with a wide variety of abrasives in a specific order. ;)
No blaster here.
