The Ebony and that Shield just looks as though you have discovered some new old stock from the last Century!!!!

Perfect

Here are the pictures of the back of the punch. By grinding the blade in an eccentric cross section, you get the twist you need to cut a hole.
And with a flat face and straight edge, it's easy to sharpen!
And it looks kinda neat.
I have broken my own tradition here, by not using an adaption of a historical patent, although this one is definitely influenced by old punches.
This design is influenced by old designs, and by some modern punches that have taught me what you need for effective use, reasonable production cost, and ease of maintenance. Might be the last portable punch you will ever need!
(Ha ha! Knife collector joke!!):D

The etch art, reproduced on the label, was created by our own Gunstock Jack!

That punch looks great Charlie, as indeed does the etch art. Well done guys, another hit for sure

WOW!

Bravo Charlie. That looks better than I had envisioned!!!

Thank you so much for giving us the peek and also for sharing the tube blurb too. Interesting to read what has driven the revisiting of this patter so many times by you....and why it looks so bloomin' marvelous!

If memory serves (which most times it doesn't) ;) Is this not some old guys punch design?

Dave, the punch was influenced by three custom punches, among others.
It is a refinement of HJ-2's punch as well! (like Christian's now famous sometimes-EDC!
(time for Christian to post his knife again!!):D

You rang?

This knife showed me what a slipjoint should be. For a long time it was my finest production, surpassed only recently by the PPP Charlow. It's all your fault Charlie. If not for you I might never have been bitten by the slipjoint bug.

HJ7 is a beauty. Not as nice as HJ2, but it's hard to top perfection. ;)

That HJ2 is pure slipjoint goodness. Beautiful.

That knife is really showing some pocket-worn goodness, Christian!
Thanks for posting it!

When I first got into slipjoints I did a lot of reading, mostly here. I remember drooling over all the beauties that were posted and lamented that knives of that quality were no longer available. When I saw the HJ2 I pounced. 1095 steel blades with gorgeous goldenroot bone covers, it was as if my wishes came true. I much prefer single blade slipjoints now, but this knife still belongs amongst my favorites.

If it ever needs a forever home...... 😄

That punch looks very similar to the blades described as "Armour piercing" - I really like the look of that Punch!
Well done, and congrats to the lucky receivers!
