LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

It never ceases to amaze me the quality and beauty of these knives, fantastically made, the walk and talk is right up there with the best of them, well done Bill and Charlie.

Another 66 I have been wanting...

Hey Duncan!! You say Tomato!! Glad you finally scored one!

That Kutmaster is a rare bird - only one I've seen so far!

A few people have been asking questions about previous SFOs, so I thought I'd post a pic or two of the bunch of them!!

HJHistory_zps35422a7a.jpg

1)From the top, HJ-1, Teardrop from Queen/Bill. These had 4 slight variations of Jigged Bone, and a small handful of "one of a kinds", a few of which Dave owns.
2)Then HJ-2, in Jigged bone and Ebony, and 2 stags were produced also.
Regular Jack from Queen/Bill.
3)HJ-3, Jigged Bone, Ebony, Equal ender. Some Stags, and some Celluloids, a few of which deteriorated. . . .sigh. Nice knives though!
4) HJ-4 marked the move to GEC. Done on their Big Cigar pattern, only a dozen of each were made. The only run with 2 blade options, a Spear with Ebony, and a clip with Stag.
5)Along came HJ-5, which was a huge hit with everyone, with its Napanoch punch. Jigged bone, Ebony, and a few Elephants were in the room!
6)Latest (and some say the greatest!), HJ-6, modeled after an old Case Tested, they came in Redbone, Ebony, and Toe-Mah-Toe! And I swear I smelled Peanuts on someone's breath!!
Here are the respective punches!

Hope you enjoy!!

Ah yes, the Elephant eluded me on the HJ-5 series. You're just too funny Charlie!!:highly_amused: At least I have the 1 of 1 Buffalo Horn from HJ-1.

Dang you Perry - :grumpy:

:D
Seriously - great score,

Charlie-thank you, that post showing the HJ's is a very important post to me, as I now have a new and very strong focus on my next 6 knives! If I can branch out on your answering of peoples questions on the SFO'S Charlie, how many - and just what type of scaled variants per HJ series were released? - I apologise in advance, as it requires a long answer :o

I have forgotten where I wrote this stuff down, Duncan, but I will start with what I remember.
HJ-1: there were 4 variants of jigged bone with ~95 of each. I split the order with another person due to money constraints, and we got about 190 knives each, for a total of 380 knives. The Bone variants were close in color. Some could not be told apart. That's where I learned to be more careful of what I ordered. Still, they were beautiful knives.

On top of those, Bill made me 7 one of a kind specials.
1 each; Abalone, Pearl, Mammoth, Buffalo, Stag, Tiger Coral and Ebony.

More to come as I remember, or find the answers.

PM sent Duncan! :D

Dave

Perry, you were one of those "Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" kids!! I can just tell!!:D

Ok! Ok!
The HJ on the #15 pattern will be a Brother to the Radio Jack.
It will have a punch instead of the Screwdriver/caplifter blade.
The rest will be identical. Common Nail Nicks for easy reach past the utility blade. Two variations on the peachseed jig, Chestnut, and Blood Red. And Gabon Ebony, so three handles altogether.

And there will be some outrageous rant on the back label!! To Be Announced!!

(I always write them at the last possible minute!!!
Bill keeps threatening to ship the knives without the Rant!!
But I know he won't . . .he looks forward to them ;)- - -shhhhh!)
