LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

A great knife that I am happy to now own. I believe it may be one of Charlie's but not sure. Jigged bone is really cool with a slight hint of green. Not sure of the steel but there is a little spot on the punch. Thinking it might be 1095. Have a great day everyone.

Yup, one of mine, Paul!! The bone was originally a faded Greenish color. I had ordered it a darker Green, to emulate Case Greenbone, but the request got lost in the translation/transition, when Bill left to form GEC!!!
I suspect someone later dyed it, or applied PP!! Still a nice knife, of 1095!! :)

It's a fine knife, Charlie. As are all of your runs. Fit and finish are top notch and the color suits my taste. Happy to have it in the collection. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good !!

16993899325798632266329414852554.jpgso I bought a slip for the hj,it has become my go to knife in winter, the size is great with or without mitts, and the awl is a great ice chipper and all around useful second blade.my question is I like to put it in the slip and then in my parka pocket.it stays there until spring.is it wise to keep a knife in a leather slip were snow will get in there often, obviously I will dry when needed.

I'd say, general rule is to keep your tools dry and oiled, especially carbon steel ones. Act accordingly.
