Yes they are both 54 from 2008Is this a 54
Yes that is one of Charlie's. #99 HJ. Very nice. My Red one is 1095.A great knife that I am happy to now own. I believe it may be one of Charlie's but not sure. Jigged bone is really cool with a slight hint of green. Not sure of the steel but there is a little spot on the punch. Thinking it might be 1095. Have a great day everyone.

Yup, one of mine, Paul!! The bone was originally a faded Greenish color. I had ordered it a darker Green, to emulate Case Greenbone, but the request got lost in the translation/transition, when Bill left to form GEC!!!A great knife that I am happy to now own. Exceptional piece of Cocobola!! Nice M&G!!!
It's a fine knife, Charlie. As are all of your runs. Fit and finish are top notch and the color suits my taste. Happy to have it in the collection. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good !!Yup, one of mine, Paul!! The bone was originally a faded Greenish color. I suspect someone later dyed it, or applied PP!! Still a nice knife, of 1095!!![]()

Thank you Charlie. That one was the second one I bought. The first one is brown without a hint of red. I had never seen Cocobolo without any red before. Here is the brown one. It looks more like light Ebony to me.Exceptional piece of Cocobola!! Nice M&G!!!

I'd say, general rule is to keep your tools dry and oiled, especially carbon steel ones. Act accordingly.my question is I like to put it in the slip and then in my parka pocket.it stays there until spring.is it wise to keep a knife in a leather slip were snow will get in there often, obviously I will dry when needed
Beautiful pics right there, Smudge!!!I must take some more photos of this #85!
