LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

I grew up in Detroit and had never heard of Buhl Sons. Sent me on an internet search. Interesting stuff. Christian Buhl was mayor of Detroit in 1860 and 1861 and started all kinds of businesses. Buhl Sons was a large hardware catalog store (early precursor to internet stores) that got sold in 1960. I did not find out who bought it or who made the knives.

Just want to thank everybody for the HJ postings here over last few months, I've been following along occasionally, not posting as I'm kind of frustrated with the current knife craziness. This thread seems much more immune to that situation, folks are here just because they love harness jacks, plain and simple. Thanks again. Mark

Just picked up this Queen #37 in Winterbottom Bone.

Nice winter bottom bone there Inv.
Charlie I’m still getting over these Knives. I too love that old Stag HJ!!! Such an array of old and old and mint - so many fine looking punches!
Your range of stunning NYK’s is amazing, interesting to see the variety of different punches Case used! The Wardlow and Zenith are two beauties - but this is very hard to start pointing out very nice HJ’s from your posts Charlie because each and every one is actually a stunning knife!!!
Thank you again Charlie - and I’m sure everyone would not mind if you posted previously posted scan photos again and again and again and...

Not above collecting HJs that are pretty much Relics, they are usually dirt cheap or free, but can tell us yet a little more history!

Here is a strange one; yet a Sales Sample!!
Made by Utica Cutlery, under their Iroquois branding, with End-of-the-Day Celluloid handles, it has a most unusual shape, with a nice Clip blade, and a typical Utica Punch!!:cool:Iroquois .jpg Iroquois 1.jpg Iroquois 2.jpg Iroquois 3.jpg Iroquois 4.jpg
The scratches are on the Scanner Glass! (Excuses, excuses!!:p)

Interesting knife. And I must say, I don't think the phrase "I can stop any time" would apply when it comes to knives.
