LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Nice picture, Dave!! The HJ6 reflects an old Case tested model; a close representation!!View attachment 2264938
Thanks Charlie! And thank you for sharing a beautiful and nearly perfect old example of the inspiration for the HJ6!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I wish my photo could have caught the beauty of mine but it was an overcast day and should have shown it with the blade and punch open. 😞:D

That particular Case HJ came from the Case Factory Collection, when Jim Parker (the Scoundrel!) sold part of it off!!o_O:mad:

From the creator ( Campbellclanman Campbellclanman ) of this thread, I have received a wonderful gift!!! Thank you so much, Duncan!!!
Duncan knows I collect cutlery from my home town, Buffalo, NY! I don't know how this knife made it all the way to our favorite New Zealander, but he has graciously returned it to "from whence it came"!!
A Rare, early Buffalo with a curved tang stamp, and long pull, it dates back to near WWI!! I'm in HJ heaven!!Buffalo HJ 1.jpgBuffalo HJ 2.jpg
Thank's Duncan!! You are a generous and kind man!!!

I had to re read the lyrics but I dont get it?

"I read the news today, oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I'd love to turn you on"
He was probably off his head! 🤔😁👍

Wow what a great gift Charlie 😎 They don't call Duncan 'The Legend' for nothing! 😉😎👍

Hey Charlie, Mike, as in mikesknives, is nowhere near Sheffield! 😁👍

I had to re read the lyrics but I dont get it?

"I read the news today, oh boy
Four thousand a-holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many a-holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I'd love to turn you on"
I wonder if John Lennon was making subtle mockery of the people filling Albert Hall??
😲 :rolleyes::(o_O

That one from Randy looks gorgeous Charlie.
Man - what a cool looking HJ that is!
Re- the Buffalo - when I saw that HJ it ticked all boxes Charlie - Teardrop in shape - and it was capped!
The Bone Colour which in “ real life “ has a little more of a warm Amber glow to it - and along with the wave jigging - just Wow!

But - what REALLY made this knife is the Tang Stamp - and again Charlie through you we learn to recognise this, The Buffalo Stamp is something that you love and isn’t around a lot.

It dawned on me when I was listening to you and lads on the Catch Bit Podcast, when you mentioned the Buffalo stamped knives - I thought to myself “What are doing Duncan with this Knife?”

It doesn’t have the place in my home of HJ’s as it will in yours.

I owe you so much Charlie - it’s a massive thank you from me to you 😊👍

Thank you for the kind comments folks - as we previously agreed it’s $20 in the mail to all who post a nice comment about me - cheques in the mail ! 🤣🤣

Here’s an interesting HJ, a Cattle Punch by Jason Richie. From reading some threads here the frame is based on an Empire Knife Company knife built for the Shadleigh Hardware Company called a Diamond Edge Cattle Knife. One of those knives was the basis for Tony Bose’s Diamond Edge Cattle Knife. He liked a clip point on it and that became the Case/Bose Cattle Knife. Jason‘s is a two blade and I think that punch is an Alford punch which was on the old Empire along with a spear main blade ( not positive on the 3rd blade ). I hope I got most of that right. I think Jason made a knife that is different but still a homage to a pattern with an interesting history. I would like to learn more about the pattern. And the knife is a really great build.
