Let's See Those Survival Kits featuring RAT

you carry a lot of stuff...too much for my blood =)

I just kind of live out of that bag. So many of the things in it I use on at least a weekly basis. The few times I forget to bring it with me I'm always cursing myself because I could have used something out of it! :D If it was a bag dedicated to wilderness or urban survival alone I'd be cutting a lot of that stuff out of there, but it's a bit more than that. :D

Springfield XD9 - Perfect enough for a BOB, two mags is about 30 rounds depending on which you have.

Since this thread got a bump....

TTD, what does your Versipack weight with all those goodies in it?

What's the deal on the gun? I mean, is it cool to pack a glock or whatever and just hop out into the bush in the US in general? Pretty nice to have when Papa Bear comes tappin' ya' on da' shoulda'... although it'll probably only just tickle him and not make him too happy about it..!

It's prudent to carry a gun everywhere in the US in general. It's a right to protect ourselves that our government is not allowed to take away. If 4 or 5 dudes or a pack of wild dogs, etc. intent on victimizing my family threatens us while out in the woods or anywhere else, I will have a means to deter the threat.

Yes and I agree, but the question was if it is allowed in most states. So, are you allowed to bring a gun into the woods in general..?

It varies from state to state and if you are on certain types of land, etc. It varies so much that no one can really give you a firm answer on that. Suffice it to say, in a lot of places, yes, you can carry firearms.

The big issue is that it's open or concealed carry. I usually end up scratching my head when I try to decipher the laws into laymen terms.

the beginning of a somewhat large kit out...;)...
