where do you guys get custom scales for the mini-grips?

I make them as a hobby/past time.

What's the knife on the bottom?

The one on the bottom is what I call my Axis Mouse. It was a trashed full sized Presidio that I picked up cheap. Then decided to make a Mouse sized knife out of it. Are you familiar with a Wenger Mouse. Well, I had one but I didn't like the lock back. So, I cut the Presidio in half, made some custom micarta scales to fit the modified handle. Shortened & re-profiled the blade and added some standoffs instead of a back spacer.

The first picture has what the knife looked like before and after.

Keyman, your work is beautiful. What are the black scales made of on that first mini grip?

what are the mods on your onslaught?

Straightened spine and made a Wave hook with a cable tie and epoxy
Ground some jimping and tiger stripes into the handle for better grip

This what an original looks like

Here's a slightly better picture of the mod

I have only two Benchmades, but hopefully they will not be my last. I'm thinking of picking up a mini-barrage and making wooden scales. Or maybe just buying a 470 Emissary.

Snapped and reground 522 Presidio:

I've said ti before but you do a fantastic job Keyman, I've got to try and learn how to do that, but don't think I'd get anywhere close!

Thanks KYenglish!

Keyman, that white AFCK is awesome! what material is that? Looks like reptile scales!

Thanks DrOpPoInT1110!
The material is called Juma.
Juma is made in many different solid colors and also in a few custom patterns.
This particular pattern is what they call Ivory Snake.
They also make the Golden Dragon pattern that I've been using and some red swirly stuff called Red Carnelian, which is still on my work bench. ;)
The pattern goes straight through the slab. You can cut it , shape it, sand it, whatever and the pattern is still there.
It's Very cool

Thanks for the reply! I.may have to pick some up. How does it compare to G10 as far as workability? Is it harder to shape?
