Very nice knife and sheath combo Martin. What are those scales called?

I believe that Jo called them tri-color rag, but they don’t look like the scales EMCEE has on his FK2’s

Good looking stuff for sure, Martin. I think it’s “tri color micarta” without the “rag” part. The older “tri colored rag” is my favorite. !

Pretty damn excited to start this Light Choppah sheath. I’ve only had this beautiful beast for a few days but I’m starting to worry about it not having pants. Life rule: you can only get away with walking around nekid for so long.

Between my wife and me we have a metric sh!t-ton of fabric/leather scraps between us.

I've appreciated David Brown 's artistry for some time, which influenced this fun little trial project. Pretty happy with it.

Unsure of the leather weight. Purchased a huge mailbag of leather scraps for pennie's from a boutique satchel company near our prior residence. I traced out the kydex on the rough/suede side, left a cm on all edges, brushed both the leather rough side and kydex with a coating of cement, hand pressed/fitted it, sandwiched in cling wrap then squished it overnight. Opened it up and ran a razor blade around the edges. Ta-da!

On the DEK2 Brown, it looks like there is an additional hole on the loop to shorten it up?

On the Brown SDFK there is no extra hole, but is it possible to add in one more hole, in order to have it ride higher, but without the additional excess strap length (perhaps cut off) now hanging lower?

And lastly, will the SDFK sheath also fit the Signature series SDFK due to the top swedge added on the SS?

All 4 look beautiful, and the additional tooling really sets them off.

Yes you can move the strap down. Picture is not the best, it’s actually burgundy.

For the burgundy SDFK , I pretty much build these one at a time. So when the build starts I can set the ride height to the persons liking. Including additional holes for adjustment. I’ve used small belt buckles also for on the loop.

Couldn't agree more. My FK2 sheath that Bill made will probably get handed down to someone some day.
