Nearly finished. The DEK is not hiding its face so I guess it’s not too unhappy with its new pants.

First time ever doing two rows of stitches. 🙄
Update edit: I think it’s good for now. Leather is sealed and good to go. At any time I could add a Mummert clip or such by drilling between the stitches for screw holes. For now, I like where it rides. Doesn’t bump your chair when sitting and has good retention.

SwarthyGnome SwarthyGnome , No siree. I’m still practicing and gathering the correct tools. The Rayskin inlay is gonna require smaller needle, thread, and spacing than I’m equipped for. I’m also thinking about doing it in black water buffalo rather than vegi-tan. Water buffalo is tricky.

That’s my long way of saying I’m chicken shit and haven’t worked up the nerve yet. 🤣

Really? Rumor is your needle is too small for the hole, not the other way around.

In all seriousness, careful planning and having the right gear for the job makes all the difference. I messed up a small sheath by rushing it....not worth it, especially on something big.

carnifex knifeworks carnifex knifeworks , 🤣🤣🤣 You got jokes !

I’ve ruined many sheaths now and chalked it up as “learning”. The “Tantosaurus” sheath will be worthy of the knife if I have to make 50 more before it. As you say, “planning and the right gear” plus practice, practice, practice.👍🏼

I’m sure you will be just fine on this. 😉👍🙂
