Lets see your CPK in Leather!

this is the production prototype for the Basic5/FK3, hot off the bench. I'm VERY happy with it, so far. I still need to develop a belt loop for it, and test that part out to get it dialed in- but after 5 iterations it sure feels good to have whittled everything down and ended up with this. Also, working a new process into the existing process I've developed was time consuming at the front end, but will make my life so much more enjoyable and financially productive.

Also made a one off for one of you fine people for the DEK2. This is my first crack at making a sheath for this knife, but I've been thinking about it for so long that it went together pretty quick and well. Once I get my hands on a blem, I'll start working on dialing in the sheath pattern and pumping out small runs, but for now I got to scratch the itch, put my ideas to the test and find out what I need to do or not do for a 'production' version.
Nice audible pop on them! 🤩

That DEK2 sheath looks right up my alley!

Drilling stitch holes is one of the harder parts of the process, in terms of physical impact. Drilling thousands of holes at a time is really hard on my shoulders and neck. Takes days to recover after just 10 sheaths at once.
Likewise, cutting around templates is time intensive and it's easy to lose fidelity- sheath to sheath, and over time.
Mechanizing this part of the process allows me to continue building my sheaths the way I've always done- hand stitched and wet molded- in larger numbers at one time than I could otherwise do.
The goal is to develop a sheath for every CPK I designed or collaborated on, or any CPK really, and be able to guarantee it's a leather sheath that's as high performance as they knives they're designed to envelope and consistent in aesthetics, function and build quality.

I’ll take one for a dek3, edc2 and medium chopper! Preferably in black, thanks! I can pay upfront lol

Here ya go. The Mummert never crossed my mind for such a large knife when buying it. Figured it would be a drop loop carry. It does work pretty slick though. Easy on, easy off. Easy to cant in a forward or rearward position as needed.

Stupid Question
*I want to up the quality of my sheath clips... All the plastic ones I've bought have performed perfectly, but I have a perceived notion that metal is better, idk? Anyhow.....why don't you shove the knife in your pants? Is the Mummert sheath need to be that way (outside)? Have you tried concealed at 5 I clock? It's pretty comfy

I just have to get off my butt and order both L & G types.... Not sure why I get bogged down in such a little thing? Lol 😮
Stupid question....

Mummerts are great clips! I have a few Ulti clips of different sizes, and 1 DCC which is a lockjaw of a clip.

I certainly could. Not sure how well that flex with my legs and pants in and out of my vehicle and driving given its size.

The 5 O’ Clock position IWB with just the Mummert out clipped on the belt or Ulti clip is and how I carry my CPK DEK 1, 2, 3 Boot dagger, DEF 2 and other knives of similar sizes. That my preferred carry position and rides well in my vehicle and not terribly uncomfortable.

That's outstanding! Really great.
It seems like just yesterday that you were just starting out...
Thank you Richard ! Mike157 Mike157 made that joke about using Nathan’s Skinner to cut his steak at the Shindig. Right about then, I realized, “Oh shit, I have a Skinner but just a cardboard sheath !” Well, work has been slow lately so I banged that one out. 👍🏼
