Hello Beckerheads,

I was in the field for a 2 day hiking/checking out area for future hunting trips mission with a good friend and fellow hunter.

He had a BK2 with him and I had the pleasure of using it for camp chores like battoning timber for the fire, food prep and other general stuff.

all I can say is what a GREAT knife overall and superb for the money. Im about to order 1 from tomars and I am undecided if I should get the micarta handles to go with it, also Ive heard you can get stainless bolts for the handle as well so I need your help.

can you guys please post pics of your customized BK2's with micarta handles and stripped blades and any other stuff youve done to them? and what do you think of the handles? worth the extra cash?

also where do you get the stainless hardware from?

Im amazed at the amount of knife you get for the money they are great and sorry to the esee fans but it will be replacing my esee 6, it just turns me on and cuts timber like a dream

Here is one of my BK's its been stripped, polished, and has the micarta. Some psycho made that sheath, creepy guy.

From sir Bladite's awesome FAQ (originally from the man himself, Toooj):

''The Fasteners for the BK-2, 3, 7, 77, 9 are Socket Head Cap screws #10-24 x 5/8" L.

I was able to get #10-24 x 3/4" L screws that worked perfectly on my 2. The very tip of the screw is exposed but it doesn't bother my grip at all and hasn't caused any blisters or annoyance yet.

I also threw on stainless locking nuts so I didn't have to do the teflon/loctite trick on them.

Best of luck, I'm sure you'll get to see plenty of pretty babies here.

This is my BK2 with Micarta handles. The stainless hardware can be found at most hardware stores--I need to stop being lazy and go get some for myself.:o

Oh, I forgot to answer your other question--I feel that the micarta handles are worth the extra money. They have a great feel, and they just look cool!

I like micarta on my knives I think it looks better than the standard handle to, It seems like micarta is the way to go!!!

Only thing I've done is put a lanyard on it :/ I'm gonna be working on micarts soon though :)

I read someone's post about loosing their knife on the trail so I decided to put some high vis orange on it just in case. I know it's not a lot, but a little is better than none. I also used a wood file on the scales to ruff it up a little bit. Last thing was the rivet on the sheath. :D

Thats not funny man.
I lost my RC6, damn you....;)

You wanted a pic and now you can't handle it. :D

Hey, we live and learn from our mistakes. I was just lucky enough to learn from your mistake not mine :D

Thanks for your help buddy

Its like that huh, I was thinking about sending you a free firesteel holder for your BK2 but now I'm going to have to charge you for it, money will fix my self-esteem.

PM me if you wanna one, I will send one to you for free, I had a few extras after making mine, its not as good looking but its decent and will work, your going to have to remove some of that ugly orange to add the holder.....:D

Here's mine, from Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop. This is how it came, minus some use. It is black micarta, dark grey really. The sheath in the pic is from Armorall leather, actually from my ESEE 5. My handle scales are flat, and the knife is quite loose in the original sheath.
