Lets see your first knife vs. last!

First one made in 2010. Last one made 2017. The main thing I notice on the first to the later ones is better attention to detail. Better hand sanding, finishing the handles all the way, etc..

i agree currenthill. i was proud of every knife, and showed it off. now i look back at old photos of them and hope no one ever sees them lol. so far it looks like i win the prize for "worst" 1st knife. i gladly accept it with a smile. its been a long road but i can finally made a decent knife.

Early knives are like pictures of any of us who grew up any time between say 1966 and 1986. Yeah it was a lot of fun, but you don’t want anyone to see what you were wearing or your hairdo.:D

My first completed knife was made a year ago this month.

John how is THAT your first knife? Jeezus you even had a makers mark lol my next 5 probably won't look as nice as that

Haha....its not so great. Its got a LONG list of problems, not the least of which is the dymondwood handle. :D

My name is stamped with individual letter stamps. They're crooked as all get out and the letters are different sizes.

As for the edge......I have a wood splitting maul that would be a more delicate slicer.
