Lets See Your Framelocks

I don't think that they will do the anodizing on an existing knife. But they WILL do a silver contrast to whatever design you want.

Mike O. is one heckuva framelock maker!! The ones I had were super smooth and at his price were a bargin indeed. The Mayo's I've been fortunate to handle, and I've handled quite a few......though I've never owned one...were also as well made as any framelock I've seen. JWS just does something for me though that no other makers knives do, guess it is just one of those INTANGIBLES:D .

As an aside, the Cuda MAXX I have has been drastically improved (in my opinion) by the addition of the $4.00 deep carry clip from CKK. Due to the shorter clip and flat profile of the MAXX, it looks like you are carrying a fountain pen! The knife is not that much harder to draw and prefer the concealment the clip offeres. I had one of the very first custom MAXX's that Darrel built and it came with this type clip and I fell in love with it instantly. It is also a very simple refit with nothing needed but a torx driver.

TBG....love those framelocks by Matt!

My framelock is the Bump on the bottom. The Bump on top doesn't count cause it's not a framelock.

Here's mine, just got it yesterday (sorry, not a very good pic):

Hey grnamin, who did the work on your Sebenza? If I could get one setup for tip down, I may actually consider buying another. Yours looks really clean with the scallops ground off - almost makes it look like a different knife.

I can't believe all the SWEEEET knives I've seen in this thread!!
I obviously need a new knife!

Klesk, I sanded the scallops off the Sebenza myself using a drum sander. I then secured the handles to a bench vise and rounded off the sections I had sanded with emory paper. Darrel Ralph was kind enough to supply me with the tip-down deep pocket carry clip. I had some extra Phillips screws from a Spyderco clip. I sent my Sebenza, clips and screws to Reese Weiland. He re-beadblasted the Sebenza handle and tapped it for the clip screws. I reshaped the clip with a little taper at the end with a Dremel tool. Hope that helps.

All these awesome pics and no one brings up the Lochsa? For shame! :) Best actual lock execution I've ever handled, and damn handsome to boot.

IamMatt, Will you share some more info with us in regards to that last one?? Thats sharp!! :)

TBG :

I may be wrong but that looks to be a Hinderer Firetac:eek:

Got to handle a Firetac a few months ago , I was totally blown away by Rick's attention to details....

Here's my latest...after looking at TBG's I'm embarased to show the rest!

Thanks for the info the45guy!! I can tell you this, My want list has grown since this thread :D

grnamin: Yes, that helps a lot, thanks! I've dealt with Reese before and he is a really class act. I may have to contact him or Ron Cochran about this. FYI: you probably know about this, but Chris Reeve sells a little piece of titanium that fits in the hole vactated by the clip.

the45guy, TBG: IamMatt's knife is a Hinderer Spark; the one in my picture is a Firetac. My Firetac is kinda plain, but you can order them from Rick anodized in different colors, if that's what you want.

You're welcome and thanks, too. I just never got around to ordering the piece of titanium that fills up that slot. It would look better with it, I think.

what are your initial thoughts on the CKT ??

What is the price on one of those puppies ?

I love them. They rank right up there with Sebenzas and customs to me. VERY well executed framelock, great size, Love the blade shape and allot of scale/blade options available.

They can run you from $275-$500 new depending on scales and blade finish. Well, the $500 is looking at the D/A model. Right now I personally only know of two dealers that have them in stock. One Stop knife shop and 2TheHilt.com. TAD occasionally gets them in as well. I think when you get a chance to handle one, you will be suprised at how well they are made.
