Wondered that myself...they did a production pattern finale with the 73 which would suggest to me that there will be no more...but there are plenty of examples of “no more” or “I’m retired” which proved untrue.

They did? Had not heard that. Must have been before I arrived on the GEC scene. Anybody have examples of those?

The pattern production finale knives were the end of the run in 2007. They made at least some small runs, some much larger, every year since then up through 2015. I feel confident that they will make them again, but who knows when?

I don't have a #73 PPF, but do have this #53 in Sandbar Acrylic, also from 2007. The PPF etch is on the pile side master clip blade.

The pattern this thread's title left out is the #42, with the same frame shape. Here are my favorites of each pattern, from small to large.

#83 Autumn Leaf, #72 Red Stag, #73 Ivory Casein, #42 American Chestnut, #23 BCSB

Here is an example of a #73 PPF. According to the 2007 production totals, GEC made a couple hundred of them in three covers - this is the ruby red.

GEC did a run of 73s as least as late as 2011. I’m hopeful they will do another run. I’d really like to get my hands on one. 3-3/4” is the perfect size, and I love drop points.
