Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Here's a nice one by Skip Miller(RIP), attention to detail was one of his strong points. Preston

Finished this bowie and its sheaths, frog and saddle chinkasa. Its shipping out for Norway today.

Made both a left and a right hand bowie/sash sheath for this knife. Here is the left handed one.

Sheephorn handle with black liners and spacers with a sharpened clip:

The right hand sheath mounted in the frog and the knife secured with a bowtie retaining strap.

The bowie, both sheaths, the frog and the Saddle Chinkasa (out of water buffalo leather), ready to go.

The saddle chinkasa (slang Spanish round here for "thingy") sandwiches over the rear billet of a western saddle and fastens with a couple of chicago screws. The horizontal straps then allow you to carry about anything on your saddle from a holster, large knife, camera case, binos etc. The advantage of the saddle chinkasa is that as JohnDF JohnDF can testify to, is the rigging of your saddle is supporting the weight of the object you are carrying. This is very strong. Tying stuff on with your saddle strings is very not strong. Here is a bino case carried on a saddle chinkasa and a another bowie to give ya an idea.

Top strap goes through the belt loop of whatever you are carrying the bottom strap secures it from flapping. A device of my own design.

Those are so way cool. Almost medieval looking.

Haven't contributed to this thread in a while, and I'm sure all my previous photo links are dead.

So lets put up a fresh pic of some thread-qualifying blades.

Bd5LiOyh.jpg

A.G. Russell 1862 Bowie
Randall 12-11 Confederate Bowie
Randall 12-6 Little Bear Bowie
MMHW Bowie (older one, I forget the model name)
Grey Wolf Blades Damascus Sub-hilt Fighter
1905 Bayonet converted to a Fighter (someone really spent some time on this one)
There are more. But it's late...
