Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

That's the problem with TOPS, many of their knives are made with toughness in mind so even a little knife like this is ground a bit thicker than a company who prioritizes cutting performance would do.
It isn't too bad because the blade isn't particularly thick, but the grind is a bit steep and it's one of those knives that can seem dull even when it's sharp enough to shave hair.
Yeah, I wish they'd thin them out, stop gunking all the black stuff over the 1095, and take the the daft names off the blades. How's the sheath, the Kydex sheath for mine is absolutely awful?!

That looks good, a lot better than the ill-fitting, noisy plastic! I do like Kydex, but it's got to fit👍
I like how it can also be carried on the belt, but the little loop they created at the top is too small to just pass the plastic barrel snap through if you want to go back and forth between neck and belt carry.
A good quality dog tag chain would probably remedy that issue for anybody who finds them comfortable.

That's a shame, it's a nice-looking sheath though, and I also like the fact there's a belt option

Russell Green River Works 13.5" Blade 19" Overall
Traded for a Boker pocket knife.

Came across this knife (a Town Pattern Whittle-Tang Bowie) in a Sheffield history forum

This Bowie knife was made in Sheffield, don't know who made it as the makers mark has been obliterated. Harry Brearley presented it to Griffith Taylor who was the geologist on Scott's last expedition to the Antarctic. When Griffith Taylor returned from that expedition, he presented the knife back to Harry Brearley with the engraved plaque attached.

Harry gave the knife to my great aunt, Winifred Beard, who was his secretary.

Nice knife! Gonna have some poppies this year my friend. Been raining pretty good, flooding in some parts. Had Yorkshire Pudding last week. First time in A Long Time. Was done right and it was pretty good. Nichole wasn't sure she was gonna like it but she did. She saw it going in the oven and its not the most appetizing looking thing before its baked. Was thinking of you.
