Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

ah sorry for the double post thats what i get for using my phone. to clarify i dont mean they literally rounded off a corner more like it looks like when ur using a scotch brite belt with slack and u touch the spine for a second too long. it creates a little ridge of shine but its more in the polish than actually cutting into anything. I dont know if thats what it is but i have been de rusting old hickories all week and thats where my brain went to as an explanation.

I saw this Herder out of the corner of my eye and thought it was going to be the one with the jimped half wheel under the thumb, but no. I still don't know where that one is.

With my CS drop-forged Survivalist, which I continue to admire greatly.
Your post made me jump up thinking that I hadn't washed and dried my Herder breakfast knife this morning, but it was as it should be! 😁

I started out trying to find an extra of the Frost's sliming knife, which I think is almost as perfect as a Schrade H-15. (I already had the CS.)
There may still be Mora knives marked Frost's being made, but I couldn't find the slimer.
Dexter's sliming knife is shorter, blunter, and more curved than the Frost's, and doesn't quite sing to me.
Somehow this all leads up to me getting the Dexter 6" butcher. Obviously.

Reined in this 1973-1977 Schrade. New. I have always loved this pattern; it is really the second generation of three variations, , first being the 147S and finally resulting in the 165 Old Timer sheath knife. They are all the same general idea, with a little different interpretation.
