Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Schrade walden 148 that we found in the dirt rotted away and trashed. Lots and lots of sanding and regrinding.

I was going to remake the leather stacked handle but accidentally destroyed the pommel when taking it apart. I think this nice piece of stag was a good alternative. It fits my hand perfectly. Great little knife.

I put this in a BPS sheath, which I like a lot better than the well built but finicky and loose-fitting sheath it came with.

Very nice, is it valuable enough one should just leave it as is or how about a little cleaning to bring it back some to be used?
It's good to go as you see it, I already did everything that could or needed to be done. Just some light scrubbing with 0000 steel wool to remove the minor surface corrosion.
There's nothing that can be done about the worn off " Krome plate " ( chrome plating ), but I wouldn't want to anyways because I like the patina it has as is.

As for value these tend to command much more of a premium on Ebay than they should, but I don't think they're truly particularly valuable unless you get a mint example.
$40 for this one was a steal to me.
They were originally a budget knife sold at the Woolworths dime stores and a lot of them were made, but it's also one of those knives that were often used up and discarded.
It has an incredibly thin blade, about 1/16 or 3/32 with a full flat grind.
It'll slice like a scalpel, but I wouldn't want to carve or whittle with it.

I just took a knife out of my shopping basket that I've been watching for a while. I realized it's a lot like this one, minus the choil.

This one just got a like from a post with its BPS sheath.

So where have I put the BPS sheath?

I keep the Esee in its plastic anyway, because it's carbon. But the Remington is less snug in the BPS sheath. If I could find one more Schrade Pro-hunter sheath, I could wet-form it to this, and that might be perfect. And the Esee could have its BPS back. I'm 49% sure that I have a pro-hunter sheath with a 50-cent Fiskars in it. Somewhere.

This Buck special 117 was generously gifted by DocJekl DocJekl , I replaced the black stitching with red and softened the sharp edges along the side of the sheath. I also glued in two pieces of leather inside to provide some compression against the blade so when unsnapped the knife won’t fall out.

Thanks again Doc,
G2
