Wackafew, I really like those Marbles you posted! Mike really makes a fine knife. I'm a big fan of his tools, and exceedingly happy with my Bark River and Blackjack knives.

Here's an interesting little guy. This one's a Ka-Bar 2751. It's a teeny little boot knife, made for Ka-Bar in Japan in the '80s. Mystery stainless (which is actually pretty hard!), and white/natural micarta handles. Nickel bolster/guard.
Blade length is 3 1/16", OAL is only 6 5/16".

An old Ruana and a knife that was made for me by the Sherriff of Douglas WY in his basement back in the late 50's.
It ain't much, but the handle's made from the antler of my first Deer so it's kinda sentimental.

An old Estwing given to me by my best friend all through school's dad, so again, It's sentimental.
Actually a dam fine piece of steel though, that I still use on the ocasional meat Deer.

Couple of good old Bucks.

And a little Northwoods Carbon Steel B&T that's become my favorite over the last few years.

I don't hunt big game anymore so this little B&T is all I need and then some.

Pukkoman I have a couple of those Kabar boot knives, but mine have the cracked ice scales on them. (I'll whip up pictures for them in a bit.)

Here are two of my latest fixed blades..
This one is a very tidy Keenwel, made by Union Cutlery, a number 598 hunter, manufactured in the 1920's, now there was a discussion on this knife, and Paul Tsujimoto from KA-BAR knives came in and verified a lot of things...this knife has had a polish-but not a severe one-still has sharp Ricasso shoulder lines, and when talking to Paul through e-mails, this knife is better than what KA-BAR has in their own collection in model and year, so I am most pleased with it, it seems to be an unused example.

also my Hattori Fighter..., I love this knife...awesome

Its a good size and feels nice in the hands. Its actually a little small than I though it would be. Its only slightly bigger than my ESEE RC-3.

Those are both superb looking knives! I particularly like the eccentric flowing lines of that Skinner. Looks extremely comfortable, too

I think these two ivory and damascus daggers from Dan Graves qualify as more or less traditional stickers.

Cool! Until I found mine on fleaBay, I'd never seen these before. Looking forward to your photos! :)

Heres one I made from W2, differentially heat treated (hand rubbed so it doesnt show in most pics but the activity is there), red deer antler i cut myself for it with a little file work.

Well, I reckon this qualifies as a traditional fixed blade..

She's a flint knapped obsidian blade with a stag & beaded handle.. The knapping was done by 'Lightfoot' marked on the pommel, a Mr. Hull I believe his name is. The beading is done by a very nice older gal but her name eludes me right now. All done by First Folks here in America.. Thats about all I think I know. She is kinda cool though..

Anyone else have any obsidian knives??

Anthony

That is certainly an interesting and elegant piece, Anthony; it opens up a whole different world of cutlery! I found half an arrowhead once and, back in the area a couple of years later, I found the other half! I believe Buck Knives has created a few blades with work on them reminiscent of knapped flint. Someone showed many years ago in a demonstration that freshly knapped obsidian was capable of sharpness greater than most folk can achieve in the steel they were using at that time. Thanks for sharing!

Thats a fine looking piece! I've been meaning to get a nice obsidian blade...on the bay you see some nice hafted and bare blades come up, I think getting my own and hafting it myself will be a fun experience. I never tried knapping though, i'd be scared to break it! :D
