Lets see your Locking Knives .

Are those Russlocks comfortable to carry in your pocket with the tang piece sticking out ?
They sure do look nice .

Bernd, What a beautiful knife! The covers are just wonderful

Oooooo....a half hawk! Now those you don't see every day. Super nice!!!

Thank you! I like the liner lock as well! I have also modern and 111mm SAKs that use it and it's a very secure system.

That 23L locks up like a fixed blade!

They're not really liner locks by definition and design, that term belongs to Michael Walker and his design is very different than the leaf spring lock as I've heard some refer to it

How do you like the Russlock? I've never actually tried one. Looks like it may be a pain to work, but must not be as many people own them.

I love mine I've used the trail for everything from a worry stone to scratching off lottery tickets to popping the top of an imported beer.

It hurts my thumb to open it properly so I "two hand" it by starting it with the heel of my hand. Neat idea but hard on my RA hands. They are a beautiful design. Wish this one was carbon but it was a gift from my wife so....

There's a way to let the handle roll in your hand as you flip the tail, this keeps you from over extending your thumb which can be painful for us older folk. Don't keep such a tight grip on it, when you first start opening the force on the knife is primarily sideways so you won't push through your grip when you start to open it. By letting it roll in your hand you reduce the distance/arc your thumb has to travel. It takes a little practice but if you relax your grip a little you'll see how it is a more natural motion.

Some really nice looking knives in this thread. This is one of my favorites. Not great pics, but you'll get the idea of why it is a favorite.

Do Opinel's count? I think there are a lot of Opy enthusiasts on this forum.

This is the only other knife I have that has a lock. The old man carried this Christy knife the last several years of his life when arthritis made opening a regular pocket knife hard. Blade has been sharpened down a bit as he used the heck out of it for all his cutting outside the kitchen.

Thanks Jack, even I started my reply I meant to include both of those but I kind got sidetracked.

I have 2 Christy knives still, probably the most people friendly pocket knife, I can't think of anyone who would feel threatened by one :) and Opinel, aside from a Swedish Barrel one of my grail knives it probably had the most secure lock on a folder, anyone have a pic of a Swedish Barrel knife?
