Really have to disagree with you. Even if they do require a lot of work as you say, the composition etc. is there and you clearly put in any needed work with great success. Praise absolutely warranted.:thumbsup:

    Yes!
Always amazed at how fine the edges of my OKTs get with just a quick stropping.

That's right! You have to appreciate a knife that comes direct from a maker with a great edge and keeps one

@Osprey Knife & Tool and @FeralGentleman will know for sure. Virtually all of my Osprey’s [edited]including my Santuko are CPM-154. This has been his standard steel for a long time. Which I can say with out question, is my favorite steel for constant hard use, both in kitchen and bush craft work.

Yes. This is the standard CPM154

Out of curiosity, what steels are on the OKTs out in the wild now @Osprey Knife & Tool ?

    CPM-154 (the standard)
    O1 (early OKTs)
    1095
    W2
    80CRV2

S35VN? I know you were working on tempering this, but don't recall any knives.

3V? I think I remember something in 3V being worked on or you buying steel stock for a future project.

The new Apache in s35vn hasn't had much use since I'm still wheelchair bound. However the fresh garlic was no match for it. Lol

You are correct! The only discrepancy is the S35vn there is maybe a handful out there. I have not been able to get to the 3v yet. I am hoping that will change soon though. I plan on switching some things up here soon!

I have the s35vn Apache. Hopefully getting it out soon as I'm out of the wheelchair and traded in the walker for a cane. Now it's time to get outside.
