Update. When i started this thread i had 1 work bench and pretty much just had a 2x72 and a portaband. Things have changed a bit its definitely more messy

What's that little white cube on the log? I'm using my phone so I can't see it really well.

I see your white board has file guide listed as something you need. Funny becaus we are going to start making them. And thy will be quite a bit cheeper then $75. Won't be carbide but hardened D2 at a much lower price.

The wife is allways bugging me for things to do in the shop so I'm finding little projects like this for her. She worked for the same machine shop as I did back in Utah so she knows her way around a mill.

With they have alignment holes and everything? What hardness are yall shooting for?

Wives are not free, I think an assistant would actually be cheeper. But wives come with other benefits.

Yes alinement holes and shoulder bolts the fit the reamed holes. As to the hardness I'm not sure yet but I'm going to make them as hard as I can without making them to brittle. I'm thinking about including a feature that alows them to be separated and clamped around your tang. Then you slide it off and clamp it to the face of your guard. This alows you to file the guard slot to perfect size without having to worry about making it to large.
