Let's see your Traditional Case knives, old to new.

I love the Case canoe because it is so thin that it disappears in the pocket. This was my EDC for a couple of years. My wife calls it my California sex knife.

Gotta love a woman with a sense of humor!

I've noticed that the majority of bone Case pocket knives have CASExx on their shield. My yellow Peanut has just CASE, but the other delrin models I've seen all are like that so this seems to be how the yellow Cases are.

Is this XX somehow a different run perhaps? Or just a variant used at that time? It's a stainless in smooth Antique bone from 2007 :)

I have found that the 4 or 5 Case knives I have with just an XX on the shield were all SFO's, limited runs by individual vendors...you won't see these knives in any Case Core Product guide; this is not to say that all special factory orders come with only XX on the shield, but that XX shield knives are SFO's.

AlNamVet68,

Thank you for the info, I didn't know that. Very interesting. I don't recall seeing that smooth Antique bone before either, so maybe that's another indicator too that it was an SFO type of run.

I've grown to be very impressed with the little Peanut. I have two of them, a yellow delrin in CV and this one in SS shown above. Great little knives!

These are most of them, except for a couple of newer ones in my edc roatation. I think they're mostly in order.

And my fledgling Mini Trapper collection.

I hope you all are not getting tired of my old red bone Case posts. I have quite a few of them and I don't seem to ever get enough of them.:)

Case XX USA red bone model 6308 whittler, circa 1970.

Case XX red bone model 6208 half whittler, circa 1940-64. The bone on this old knife is almost translucent, like you are looking deep into the bone, almost like translucent candy.

Both of these are pretty close to mint and I reckon they might get to stay that way for a while.;)

(The 6308 got to ride in the watch pocket for the afternoon today):)

Primble you are the main reason I check in on this thread and you NEVER disappoint:thumbup:

All are stunners my friend!!!

Paul

Left to right: my Uncle Gary's 6265SAB as passed down to me from my Grandma, my 6375 CV large "serpentine" Stockman, and my pride and joy "weekend carry" knife my TB 5339 CV Rancher Sowbelly Stockman.

Together, they're the "Three Wise Men" of my collection ;) I see many more Case XX Knives in my (and my daughter's) future!

I never knew what a watch pocket was for until I got my Case Stockman folders! Especially the Sowbelly, she just disappears in there yet is so much knife when I need it. I'm really in love with that knife right now, so happy I pulled the trigger on that one. I had just bought the large amber bone stockman about a week before I saw the burnt stag Sowbelly in CV for the first time. I considered selling the bone stockman to raise money for the Sowbelly, but I decided I loved them both. As it is I carry my large stockman Mon-Thurs and the Sowbelly Fri, Sat and Sun. They both ride great in the watch pocket of my Carhartts!

Yep - that ole watch pocket is a great place for a lot of pocket knives or a pocket watch, if one prefers.:) You made two good choices on the knives.
