I've been wanting one of these Case Cattaraugus Copperlocks(ATS-34) for a while. It arrived yesterday...just in time for the annual family trip to the strawberry patch. It's much later in the season than we usually go, so it was rather picked over. Oh well, good day for an outing and knife pics.

Both tempting, very nice jigging and color!
I wish case would stop tumble polishing and do grinds like this all the time. Looks great.

Isn't the CAse Cattaraurgus knives done by the same sub-shop that does the Bose collaborations, hence the different finish and premium steel?
Makes sense, but I can't confirm that. The grinds are perfect and even on this one, really happy with it. Crisp and solid lockup. I've mostly wanted it for the better blade steel. The full size copperlock is the knife I'd like Case to offer with a 154cm blade if they do another limited production run...with the clip and/or wharncliffe blade.
I almost pulled the tigger on that one yesterday but I was afraid that the Case on the bolster depth was very shallow . What are your impressions my friend ???
Harry I really can't find any fault with the exception of the blade play. The knife feels just right with regard to thickness and heft. The bone is rich and the jigging is very nice. Walk and talk was very satisfying with a nice strong pull. Blades were centered. Springs were not flush at half stop but that doesn't bother me in the least. Great snap. The bolster stamp is not super deep for sure but very very nicely done with crisp definition, just beautiful. I have already shipped it back and will receive a replacement hopefully. I would strongly recommend picking one up but you might request that the sample be inspected prior to shipping. I've also had a smooth redbone on pre-order for about 2 months.I almost pulled the tigger on that one yesterday but I was afraid that the Case on the bolster depth was very shallow . That is a beautiful knife my friend .
