Let's see your Traditional Case knives, old to new.

I looked in Pfeiffer's book also. I called Tony Foster, and he directed me to an old pocket guide for these!!View attachment 1298218
The top two are a 6230 and and a 6230 1/2. Same length as yours!!
I wonder what the difference is??o_O
At bottom is a 6245.
Nice bunch of Case knives you are posting here!!:)

Thanks for the kind comment and for the information, Charlie. I went back to the AAPK research section on Case patterns and they say that while the 30 pattern comes with either clip or spear mains, they always have a pen secondary. Mine has the spey secondary. Of course, AAPK also indicates that 53 pattern cattle knives have 3 blades - spear, pen and spey. Well, at least the 30 pattern is a 2 bladed equal end knife, which is closer to mine.

Thanks for all the photos. Which knife do you carry the most?

I've never given the Tear Drops much thought, always thinking they were an odd little knife. But your two-blade with smooth bone covers has me re-thinking that. It's really nice looking.:thumbsup:
Thank you. I felt the same and only because I saw one at a discounted price with great covers did I go for it. Now that I have it, I've changed my mind. It's a nice usable size and I think two blades to choose from will be handy. :)

D Duckdog Stuart, thanks for taking the time to post up some of your wonderful collection! I'm with Gary. I'd be clicking the like button 'til tomorrow morning (especially given the server issues), so consider this post as liking them all!

Thanks very much for the kind words, Al. I hope to get some of the more reclusive members of the family photographed and posted. Every knife deserves its day in the sun.
