What will 2022 bring? 🤔

Just took this one out of the box.
Case Bose Amber Bone Saw cut Barehead Sway back. Case knocked this one out of the park !!
No gaps , centered blade , nice and snappy walk and talk and the saw cut bone is beautiful😍

Good question James, it will be fun reading all the speculation that is sure to come. 😉👍

The Barehead Sway Back Gent with Sawcut Amber Bone arrived today, on schedule. Initial thoughts, then pictures.

This is one of those designs I think is odd. Just like other knives with reversed-curve frames, and the Tear Drop. And just like cameras and handguns, I have to get a knife in my hand and use it for a while before I decide if it's a keeper. The Tear Drops certainly surprised me, even with what I see as odd design, once I had one in my hand I realized how well it fit, and the design has become one of my favorites.

Initially, I find the reverse-curve frame awkward. I keep wanting to flip the curve the other direction. Time will tell if this knife will be a one-off for me, or if I'll come to like it enough to buy another.

This knife. Slight cracking in the pile side bone, doesn't run through any pins or to an edge. Pile side bone sawcut pattern runs perpendicular to the mark side. Very minor gap between bone and liner near the bolsters, almost didn't notice it, more easy to see in the photos than in the hand.

And, that's it. F&F is otherwise good. Nothing proud. No sharp edges or burrs. Blade is almost perfectly centered and has no play, and the sharpening is better than most of the blades I've received on Case knives. I wasn't able to detect daylight between spring and liners. W&T is smooth, with OK snap at half and open. Pull for me is about a 6, but I have issues with arthritis and fingernails chip/ break/ split more easily than when I was younger. Others may consider it a lighter pull.

IMHO very nice knife for the money.

I have same problem with swaybacks: I want to flip them over. Just feels more natural that way.

I've seen Case do the perpendicular sawcut from one side to the other. I think there were barlows like this in the last run. I have two Caribbean blue, sawcut Cases, and all four handles have the cuts running up and down. I'm not sure why they do some one way, and some the other. Maybe they get bored doing it one way :p

In any event the handles on those look fantastic :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Absolutely love it ! You scored a nice one 👍🏻

Thanks!

Yeah, time will tell if the pattern will work for me.

I have a few with the sawcut, and all are the same direction or slightly off. This is the first I've received with the cut going perpendicular-ish.

Thanks!

Is the dogleg jack a 6207 also? I always called the 6207 with a pen secondary a dogleg jack, and they look the same in your pics.
yes, both dogleg jacks. One of my most favorite patterns. I actually have a couple more somewhere.

Thanks!

This pattern to me is more natural flipped around although it’s comfortable in hand with this dog leg pattern also as designed . But I did get one of my deepest cuts ever when I grabbed this particular pattern in low lighting “ That’s my story and I’m sticking To it :)
Went to cut some leather for a lanyard not realizing it was upside down in my hand. I had it edge up cutting the leather on a cutting board with my pointer finger on the edge when I pushed down with much force 😳 yup it went pretty deep into my finger .

Ouch.

It definitely bears watching during use, since it's the first I've had.
