Let's see your Traditional Case knives, old to new.

Anyone see these new offerings by Case yet? S35VN traditionals with an open nailnick, and jigged, Burnt Amber Bone. Pretty interesting....

So far, all I see is a Medium Stockman and a Trapper available. Not really up my alley, but if they come out with a wharncliffe Swayback or a Mini Trapper, that'll be an insta-buy for me.

Initial impressions...

Nice job matching colors and finishes between this one and the previous. Not perfect, but close.

This one is carbon vs stainless on the previous. And as with the previous exclusive, no half-stop.

Fit & finish - like the previous, mine is not perfect. Slight blade de-centering but no side rub, slight gapping between spring and liners, slight finishing differences between pile and mark sides. Also like the previous, I'll be taking some very fine sandpaper to the micarta to take the "edge" off the corners. Otherwise no blade play, pull is good for me (but might be a little on the weak side for others), W&T is slightly gritty but already improving with about 10 openings and should be nice after a flush & lube and some more action working, blade is sharp and stabby with no noticeable rolls or burrs or huge off-center grinds.

Overall - not perfect, but a nice user knife (definitely not a safe queen/ collector knife IMHO) for the money. None of the noticeable stuff on mine makes me want to do a return. Of course all IMHO as a non-expert, based on my example, YMMV.

Excuse the holiday carry, it snuck itself into a few photos.

Well done! Thanks for the update! 😃

So what is the Carbon Steel?
I presume it's not CV, otherwise they would say it.

They introduced a CS vs CV steel citing supply chain issues.

Best regards,
