Lets See Your Traditional Smooth Bone

That's a GEC made Northwoods Fruitport. A GREAT knife. I think Bark River also did the convex grind and the leather slip. Interesting collab.
I've got one with stag handles. Awesome knife! I believe they were an SFO for KSF, who owned/owns the Scagel brand.

Yeah, I get confused by the labels sometimes. I have heard people refer to it as a Scagel Fruitport or a Northwoods Scagel Fruitport - it does have the Northwoods arrowhead shield. I can't recall if the box has Northwoods on it, but the Scagel pull is the dead giveaway for a Scagel. Some IRJ's have that pull, at least the early ones. I'm not really a NW collector but anything GEC is good in my book. I bet the stag versions look amazing.

Wow, they are some old knives I assume Just saw his short bio...1873-1963.
Or..was he the influence for these builds. Pardon my ignorance.

Maybe the originals by Scagel himself... but GEC has only been around since 2006 or 2007... Queen did some NW Scagel pulls before GEC was around IIRC... but the Scagel I posted and the ones we are discussing are 2010 releases I believe. Still pretty rare 12 years later and they had relatively low number production runs.

Thank you for response...never to old to learn.

Sorry, second pic only has one smooth bone knife in it.

Some beautiful knives in here. Looking through here made me realize I don’t own a single smooth bone knife. I might have to remedy that this year.
