I really like flippers, but I prefer my flippers to have thumbstuds as well. I don't always want to flick out my knife, depending on what company I'm in.
The only flipper I owned in the past was a ZT200. Kind of big and clunky so I sold it. I did pay for a pre-order on the next release of the Spyderco Southard this week. Can't wait for it to show up!! Looks like one knife that may boot my Sebenza out of my pocket for a while.

The flipper is my favorite manual of arms in a folder. I started with the CRKT M16, then I found the Kershaw OD-1, and then the CRKT Ripple. My favorite is still the OD-1, but I'm going to repaint the Ripple, which I think will make me like that one more. I never really liked the distressed finish, but it was an emergency buy, and the best I could find at Wal-Mart.

I like them, but enjoy the variety. The fast deployment is very cool, but I definitely wouldn't want all my knives to be flippers. Looking in this thread there are some very cool flippers out there!

I only have a few flippers. Good ones are about the same cost as an automatic though, so I tend to buy another auto knife, rather than put money into a flipper.

I think I prefer to open my knife with the thumbstuds but there are just so many cool knives
with flippers that I've owned several. Currently I have these three.
