Let's talk about the 500

I’m torn on this. I really like the 500, but when I think of the Bullet knives, I think of trappers.

I do like them though!

I don't think these are being called bullet knife referring to the knife style. It's a bullet knife due to the inlaid silver bullet on the scale.

I use a half round wood rasp file to start the grooves. Once I get them set, (not to correct depth) just placement. I then began wrapping sand
paper around the file to sand them smooth. You can finish off with fine sand paper. I always do the shallow type finger grooves. There is not a
lot of room on a 500. Just saying. DM

Thank you, JD, yes it is.

Same blade, handle with the same shape only without the stainless butt, the 550 King Charles.

I've got a NIB 550 and think very highly of it. Not only is it a nice knife but the sheath is great as well. Beautiful burgundy color and the angled tip, not sure of the correct term. Been tempted to carry it a time or two but it's so nice I keep talking myself out of it.

hammer, describe more about the 'angled tip'.
Bear, it's not a 110. But it is lighter, thinner and lends its self to pocket carry. A 3" blade will cut up an apple, open mail, cut up cardboard
and lots of cutting chores around the house. It's a office & walking the dog in the park and dress type knife. I think everyone should own one. DM

hammer, I have a sheath just like that for my 531 Bucklock. A 1994 model. I think they used that style sheath on a few special models. DM

Agreed. I think I've seen something similar with a 110 of some sort but it might have been aftermarket.

Them 500's sure ride nice in the pocket, I'm especially fond of the ones in burgundy micarta with the script stamp.

sit, I'm glad you came in on this as I knew you carried one. DM
Like like you said above, the 500 will do most cutting jobs in a normal days routine for most folks needs, and the nice curve and narrow profile makes it go pretty much unnoticed in a pair of jeans pocket. I also find that the blade shape and pleasing look to the model makes it appear non threatening when used around folks that aren't of the habit of carrying knives.
