Let's talk about the Spyderco Military

Just about the best knife for eliminating Zombies, IMHO.

Very nice. Is this custom or something? How do I make mine look this awesome? Agree completely with Zombie assessment. This is what I will have on me during the outbreak, along with a Spartan blades Horkos....

Was not a huge fan at first (I hate tip down carry) but since getting my orange Millie and Ti Millie they have grown on me, I usually carry a Millie in my left pocket as my secondary blade.

Don't like tip down either. Got my first Military, made it special with the CRUWEAR. Sorry, your threats of Esav don't scare me :p

I love, love my Millies! If I was down to one folder it would me a Millie. Question is which one??? I've acquired a M390, a S90V, a Cruwear, a Ti, a BG42, and a M4. I guess I can say "Hi, I'm Bill, and I have a problem." :-)

I did however just get my Southard in tonight, and for a "baby knife" I really am liking it. I don't think it will replace my Millies anytime soon though!

I've sold about 3 M390's, an S90V, a Ti, and after reading up on some testing done in comparison to CPM-M4, I decided I didn't need to pull the trigger on the Cruwear. The CPM-M4 in full Ti remains my favorite Spyderco, and one of my favorite knives overall.

You guys keep making threads about my favorite knife. IN the first pic below, the one on the left was purchased in 1996 when they first came out. Original two-hole clip CPM 440V blade Military. Been edcing this knife for many years, and look at it. After who knows how many honings, you cannot tell the difference in blade shape from the two new ones I bought in 2012. Only problem I ever had, the clip snagged on something while in my pocket, and stripped out the two holes. Fixed it myself, took the knife apart, reamed and tapped the holes for bigger screws, and put it all back together again. Never a problem since. Black heat-shrink tubing on the clip.

It's still my in-week edc for work and such. The two new ones with the nice black clips, are weekend black jean knives.

I also have two titanium Leatherman Charges for the same reason. One natural for in-week, one all black for the weekends.

I've grown to like the Millie. I only have one tho:p. EDC'd it last weekend doing various light duty chores with the wife spending the weekend in the Smokies scoping out the Elk and historic sites/buildings on that side of the Park.

Also worked awesome for slicing off Maple Walnut fudge that came from Gatlinburg(man that chit is good).

Still has the factory edge.

Thanks for the complement. I bought this Zombie killing Millie from a talented guy who made the custom scales. I liked the colors and wave pattern he did. He said that to do it you can use any handle material like Micarta, G10, Zytel, FRN, etc. You layer it with colored spacers, usually plastic, glue the layers together, and they start carving out your design with a Dremel tool making the depth of the grind such that the colors form a cool pattern. Then you cut the material to the size of the existing scales, polish off the edges, drill mounting holes and attach them to the knife. It just takes time and practice. But it sure looks neat once finished.

I carry one of my Military sprints every day about 95% of the time.

BG-42 /CF
S90V / CF
M4 / Ti & G10
CTS-XHP / Brown G10
M390 / CF
S90V / Blue G10
CRUWEAR / Gray G10

I do carry one of my Manx 2 sprints on occasion when I am forced in to dress pants for some reason.

I've got the original Ti Millie. It's a nice knife for sure. The lockup on mine is rickety (got it used) but I got a good deal and partial refund on it, and it's not really noticeable in use, so I'm okay with it.

The ergonomics are really nice, I love finish, and even more, I love the way this knife cuts!

I recommend it, though the new versions are obviously better.

I really would like I could say the same thing, but I've never found a M4 version :( The Military I most want!
Among those that I have, the Cpm D2 Foliage Green is my favourite, with all the versions of carbon fiber.

Siiiiiiiick. Thanks for sharing!

they keep coming up with all these sprint runs but maybe it's time for them to try to improve the actual design like they did with the paramilitary , not saying the current one is bad but maybe it could be improved like a different lock like a compression , just an indea
