Lets talk GEC!

They seem to put out the hunters pretty regularly, and it seems like there's not as big of a following.
I wonder if this is one of those products that they can make relatively easily and inexpensively to pad their earnings a little?
I imagine they don't make near as much per knife per hour building when producing something like the #38 whittler patterns.
My guess would be readily available raw materials.

Just curious, since GEC is no longer doing SFOs (actually not clear on this since there will be a BF knife), does that mean there won't be anymore 77 Northfield barlows? Or, if I understand this correctly, like the TC barlows, GEC owns the Northfield brand so they can make more Northfield barlows whenever they want?

MililaniGrown MililaniGrown , GEC owns the Northfield brand and they certainly can make 77 Barlows whenever they wish. I believe they will at some point. The key questions are when will will they make them and will they give Mike Latham knifeswapper knifeswapper the opportunity to have his own SFO as they did for Charlie with the last run of 15 Barlows.

Mike and Charlie waynorth waynorth have great taste. Their SFO’s represent some of the nicest knives ever made by GEC. I certainly hope they are both invited to continue on. The input of these two pros has definitely contributed to GEC’s success to some degree.

When GEC returns to the 77 pattern, I hope they do more than just Barlows. Some of the other knives made on that platform were exceptional.

With the forum knife in mind, do we have any idea of the possibility of GEC releasing a 86 Barlow on their own and if so, when?

This is troubling to say the least
Why?
I don't think they've taken a vacation (although if so, they deserve it!), but maybe it's just a question of priorities and strategy. We're used to them keeping us well informed, but perhaps they want to surprise us!

I just noticed new pics of the Remington 73 in the "What's happening" section. Can't wait to see new stuff!

Oh, you were taking me seriously? Never do that. They are just building up the suspense. Cutting those combs out takes time.😉
