Lets talk GEC!

Some of those patterns/variants had well over a 1000 made - Cocobolo 68s (1080), Dark Brewed 83s (1028), Micarta 71s (both over 1000), Remington (2596).

Seems their plan of releasing less variants so that they could make more of a single pattern is starting to pan out for them.
I guess 700 stag 68s explains why there was so much variation. Probably had to be less picky than a 200 piece first pass at a batch of stag.

The single digit knives, what are they for? could it be an employee making themselves 1 special knife or maybe 3,5,8? lol

They are SFAs for the rendezvous. Like this 1 of 7 86 in Brazilian Cherry.

Looks like they made some exotic wood 71s probably for the rendezvous. Can’t wait to see those!

They're doing some other things differently, too, that I don't know what/how to speak to. But even during the days when they ran 50 (25 serialed and 25 unserialed) of 7-10 different cover patterns, at best we're looking at half these production numbers.

This is very intriguing... I think this is the first time for GEC running wood slabs on a 71, no?

5 of those (1 of each cover) were for the wounded warrior raffle at the 21 rendezvous. Who knows where the extras are? But that is always the mystery with GEC right?🤔
Ahhh yea your right I forgot about those! Some other intriguing small runs on the list as well.

I think they made some in osage orange before.

Possible reference to ebony and ivory in the background?
That’s got to be a very strong clue to ebony and ivory. “B” on the hat is hopefully a reference to a yankee barlow, like Jiki Jiki guessed a while back. Papers in the elephants trunk? So…I’m really hoping we’re getting Ebony and paper ivory micarta on a 77 Yankee barlow. Sheepfoot blades are due for a return. Fingers crossed anyway.🤞
