Lets talk GEC!

It's oiling day for the safe collection. I have a handful of users I'll try and post later but this is the first time I've done a group shot. I try to only buy on drops (or received as gifts), so these later years have been sparse as the competition grows haha.

Wow what a collection! I bet there are some real gems in there.

Rumor has it that GEC is working on a run of 72 lockback Cody Scouts. If this is true, happy days are here again! I sure hope they play it straight and don’t gimmick them up. This is a classic pattern, and it has been a long time coming. Fingers crossed.
It would be hard to improve on perfection Greg. Plus, no shield on stag. That has super color.

Should be a good run. The #72 is a nice pattern, and I think 2016 was the last run, so hopefully some folks who are newer to GEC will have a chance at one. I am a bit disappointed they aren’t doing it with that big fat spear blade they’ve done before, those were pretty cool. Here’s my only #72:

My only complaint with it is a bit of blade rap. I ended up putting a small piece of leather down in the blade well so I didn’t have to worry about letting it snap shut, but hopefully it won’t be an issue with this run.

Love the 72’s — looks like there will be some nice combos coming up.

Good looking jigged bone Northfield. I generally tend to prefer the Tidioute models, but I will pick up a Northfield every now and then on a case by case basis. Curious to see what they’ll look like in this run (mostly the jigged bone; the rosewood with the cloud shield doesn’t do much for me.) I might try for the burnt sienna natural bone Tidioute. I think it’ll be a pretty cool looking knife, and for whatever reason I don’t have a GEC with that sort of rustic, natural bone they do from time to time.
