Lets talk GEC!

The #13 Congress is OK, but I much prefer the #62!! Rounded Bolsters, semi-sunk joints and great blades makes this a wonderful EDC!!! These nice Tomato acrylic handles won me over to appreciating Synthetics!!Tomato A.jpgTomato B.jpgTomato C.jpgTomato D.jpg
I coudn't pick up the etches, but this is a PPP model, and number 21 of 25!!
From the first 5 years, at 2011!!! I love carrying this knife!!!

Talking of Acrylics....am I to infer that this 68 is NOT in fact made out of a Dead Skunk??? I thought it smelled too fresh ;) but these revelations and truth about GEC are beginning to unhinge us all:eek: Then there's the Kryptonite....

One bucktail supplier I buy from to make fishing jigs decided to sell a bunch of skunk tails for tying material a few weeks back. I was really interested in seeing how the hair worked underwater, but not at the risk of my wife shooting me in my sleep for bringing literal dead skunk into the house. I'm glad I kept myself in check, but couldn't help asking him how they smelled. His response was "pretty bad."

Until I'm living full time out in the shed I think GEC's dead skunk acrylic is as close as I'll get.

Actual sawcut Richlite for reference, crosscut in this case. I am jonesing for a knife handled in this, this is the unfinished edge of my cutting board. With a little wax or clearcoat on it, the crosscut on this stuff looks amazing to me, you can see the layering.

I just saw the next GEC release for the 2024 and its the #47 pattern in purple sage horsecut India bone and ironwood. They also released these in 2023. Not that I'm complaining but isn't it a bit odd for them to release the same knives two years in a row?

Is that Michael Scott in the assembly room doorway? 😁

What about the orange and grey pockets? Anybody know what those are?
Those colors made me instantly think about F&F, but that's not likely they make another one so soon. Right?..

Pocket Carver? I don’t know.

Not only did they do them last year, but they did them in the last few months. Definitely unusual.

I have been saying the awl on the hj are a preferred option for me as a second blade, but after using the 35 cattle I have fallen in love with that thin backed sheepsfoot,it can really cut.comparing the 29 which has the clip, sheepsfoot and awl the 29 sheepsfoot is a little thick,I like that really thin sheepsfoot on the 35 cattle.so clip and awl and clip and really thin sheepsfoot.my new likes lol.
