Lets talk GEC!

The remainder of the knives I picked up at the rendezvous. The knives are great, the people were better.

I know it's been said many times, but that 39 giraffe bone is simply stunning... big congrats on landing it!!

I haven’t check the traditional sale forum in a while and some of those prices have skyrocketed. I’m seeing CRK prices for GEC. Is this as of recent? I might need to offload some of the collection 😂

Wow! Again, the abalone 86 grabs my attention, but so many great pieces you picked up. That ebony 44 looks very classy.
Thanks. It’s my first 44 but I think it’s a keeper. Kind of the ultimate 44 and also the memories of getting it at rendezvous. Be careful at rendezvous guys, I hard to part with knives you work to get.

Back to the single spey 39 run. Bill was inspired by a vintage Cattaraugus single spey on a curved jack frame that he was recently shown. He examined the knife and told the gentleman to show the knife to Randy. A month or so later we have a run of 39s with single spey and trapper configurations.
Here are the Cattaraugus knives (across the top center) and the club knives that were made from run. Not my pic.

I would have preffered gabon ebony, but sometimes you have to take what you are given. 😁

It will be interesting comparing it to my ol 748117 which is a classic, cant wait. 😍

Just happen to own a nice example of the Cattaraugus that this run is based on. Posted this in the 39 thread but thought it would be useful here.

Those Rendezvous 39s are stunning. Congrats to all that were able to get em.

That Cattaraugus is nice old knife  Given the curve of the handle, how does it compare to the GEC 39 when you hold it in your hand?

I got this little guy for retail at blade show last week. I guess it was just sitting in their stock for 6 years. Definitely a keeper for me. Big thanks to the guy walking around with an armful of tubes that pointed me in the right direction.
