Lets talk GEC!

some patterns are super hyped up because of a specific configuration that they came out in once and have achieved cult like status

That and the action in some were better for specific years, 15s come to mind and like you said some blade patters and combos aren’t repeated often so whittlers like the 57 and 38 grinling are tough to impossible to find.

So we got the 81 next and I’m guessing 3 blade stockman since we just had a skinner, then a gunstock something (maybe a 22?) followed by 93s and that cowboy on horseback is probably our 91 pattern…what are the chances we get a 81 and 91 stockmen?

I really like the Dixie Stockman, it is a most excellent pocket knife.

On my trip to my U.S. P.O. box, I also picked up a couple of knice GECs!!
gunstockjack gunstockjack 's SFO 78, and a Hemlock 32!!!B Day Pair 1.jpg
Barry's Smooth Autumn Gold is quite nice, especially in person, and the Hemlock 32, a great pattern has an intriguing color to the jig! I can see the RED under-dye showing more as it gets pocket-worn!! It is tempting to fine-sand it - hurry it along!! 😁
