Lets talk GEC!

As much as I don't carry small knives all that often,I can't help but want to see gec make a nice pen knife in the tradition of the early patterns. It was just a knife that everyone carried whether you were office,,construction or bush, all my old bush wackers and fellow construction workers all had there prized pen knife in pearl, horn, bone, exotic wood or ivory if you could score such a knife not to be used on trying to cut haywire and snare wire or shave concrete lol.

That's GEC pattern #09 you taking about.

Ya something similar, and maybe in a nice horn handle or nice smooth white bone,I get the 22 mag and rattler or the 14 but they don't have the slim elegance of a pen knife.the 33 is a really nice pattern but again not a pen knife.so is 2014 the last time they made the 09 or something similar.

Seems so, at least 09s. 68 White Owl might fall into category of a nice small pen knife though. Those were last made in 2021.

The 68 white owl in stag is probably my most carried knife and I can't see a pen knife needing to replace it for size ,but it's just not a pen knife, maybe there is not a need for a pen knife anymore when you have the medium Texas jack and peanut, the pen knife made for Winchester by queen is nice and was made when bill was there. But it probably comes down to the fact that a pen knife isn't desired like it once was and could it be because it was considered a sunday go to church knife and whith church attendance down lol,we just called it our go to towner knife.

All this talk of Penknives has enthused me  CASE's serp Pen is a great carry so GEC could try its hand at that but with more varied scales, including an outrageous Cell style Acrylic. Better still they might consider a proper tapering Sleeveboard pattern but kept small 3.25" and not over wide but good thick rounded scales. This could be a very fancy gents's style knife with Clip/Pen or Spear/ small Sheepfoot-Coping.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the #33 Conductor - its pared-down construction and 3 3/8" length are surely classic penknife and it's the smallest knife I regularly carry.
I've shown it here next to a #62 Easy Open Congress which, although substantially larger at 3 3/4" still feels like a penknife to me, with the pen blade only a whisker larger.

But they are all same size. Also, note in the box says ”#81”.

They do look too close in size to be the 91 now that you mention it. Even from whatever distance this is, there should be a noticeable difference in size between the 81 (4”) and the 91 (4 3/8”).

No idea. I’d guess those richlite covers were the undyed, unjigged blanks for the tidioute winterbottom style knives.

Maybe an employee is making a knife for himself with spare parts? I heard they can do that, no verification on that though.
If they can, I bet they are not allowed to sell those. Or even show in public.
