Lets talk GEC!

I'm curious to see some carried osange after a year or so of use,I just started carrying this 29 every day for a month now and haven't noticed a change at all after getting grease, mud and plenty of orange juice on it,were as my 78 cocobolo which I carried about 2 months in total has really darkened up already that if I continued to carry it it could probably pass as African blackwood. 17291403506148188910838657947855.jpg

What do you think about the serpentine bar shield versus the regular bar shield used on the 2014 Tidioute 22’s?

I don't dislike the shield, but I think they should have left that shield dedicated to the serpentine stockman. I realize that the 22 does have a bit of "bend" to the frame, but I've never heard it called a serpentine small Gunstock. I think a mini-cartridge shield would have looked good on this one...like a .22 sized one. Maybe that'll appear on the Northfield version ;)

I never noticed that until you pointed that out,for some reason I have always associated the bar shield with a plate for engraving .

It's UV you need, Robert. Probably not much outdoor UV up there this time of year, but even a CFL provides enough. Put it 10" under one, two week on each side, then see what you think? A coat of two of Danish Oil helps, too.

The shield suits the Wharnclffe with Barehead , looks very well I think.

Oldy Oldy Fred just gave you the right advice, Osage Orange doesn't change much in the dark (pocket or safe) whereas Coco often defaults black wherever it is.

I had a 73 in Osage which was really a bright yellow colour on arrival, leaving it on the table in sunshine altered it, it's now in France with Yann and he showed a recent picture of it in the Just A Picture thread post No. 10,866

This one has a number of years on it. It’s darkened up a bit, but not much. I don’t have a photo of it brand new, so I am unable to give you a side-by-side comparison.
