Lets talk GEC!

I'm very happy with mine. There's a lot of belly in the long blade. Slim enough to pocket or get around easy, but not so slim it takes anything away in the hand. The covers and shield just sit right with me. It's a good looking knife imo.

IMG_0147.jpegIMG_0141.jpegIMG_0137.jpegI agree!

I like the contrast - bare head and not, different era of tang stamps, different pin placements, nail nicks are a bit different too, looks like the ebony blade has a bit more swedge so the nick appears smaller... very much the same knife, but very different. Thanks for sharing a nice pair of 65's.

Somewhat related, somebody a few posts back posted some of the bullet shield GEC's. GEC made a Ben Hogan bullet shield 65.

I’m not 100% sure about the green stone (was in my grandfather’s rock collection) but Charlie, birdsbeaks birdsbeaks and I decided a while back it is likely Green Aventurine?

Looks like Variscite!!??

Ha Ha!! I think we've had this conversation before!!?? 😁
It's a nice stone, no matter which mineral it represents!!😎

I can't believe it. Just the other day, I found the cropped picture of the stone which I had fed into ChatGPT and was amused that it was still floating around in my gallery. 😂

Glad the stone is still drawing admirers!

Nice one. . Been wondering if these are like the 2014 #66 Slims. I know they are a single spring. But are they as slim as the 14’s? The old slims are hard to come by.
Good question Tim  I suspect not as the Slims have that long Clip and are svelte, but can't say for sure as I don't have one of the latest 66 models. Slims are scarce, only have one left myself a very neat Smoke Pearl Acrylic and would like to see them issued again. The latest 66 release are very decent with good range of scales but I think the inclusion of a small Sheepfoot instead of Pen secondary would've really spiced up the pattern.:D

Thanks, Will

The knife is as close to perfect as they can get!! Smooth transitions and Old Man Shield!! Flat-finished handles with nice rounded bevels!! Good snaps and Half-stops!!!
