Lets talk GEC!

+1 Here here!

440C Abilene stockman is probably what I want the most. We actually had a shot at that knife (with 2 blades instead of 3) for the previous forum knife. So it's definitely possible for GEC to make the knife.

I think an all stainless steel GEC #15 barlow with a clip blade and sawcut bone would be pretty cool... it could have an acorn bolster stamp instead of "TC" :) The two blade version could be a clip and sheepfoot.... similar to a "carpenter's knife".

Yessir! I'd all over that! Pretty much the perfect all-round carry knife for daily chores. I especially like the idea of an acorn stamped bolster!

Great Eastern Cutlery Tidioute Charlie Campagna #14 Lick Creek TC Barlow in Dark Red Black Cherry Sawcut Ragg Bone

If that were a Beer Scout Knife, GEC would have fit the whole thing on a shield.

Does anyone know if GEC ever made their own version of the Barlow on the 15 frame?
I've been a part of this Forum for several months and noticed how popular the TC Barlow is and how hard they
are to get with the Clip point blade. Why do we have to wait for a SFO to get such a desirable knife???

No, the 15 barlow has only been run on SFOs with the exception of a handful done for the Rendezvous last year or the year before.

Be patient, you will eventually run across one if that is what you want.

Anybody else wondering if there's something in the works between the 14 and 15? I thought I heard the beer scouts/boys knife were not going to be available until September. If they do produce another pattern between the 14/15 run I hope it's either the Fremont or 77 barlow...

I heard there was going to be another run of fremonts this year but not sure when.

Yeah I'm sure I read on here that there's going to be another run of 77 Northfield Barlows this year. I was hoping that's what might be between the 14s and the 15s . Time will tell.:D

GEC posted the barrel pics for the 15 covers being prepped. Maybe the 15's will come sooner than sept, nov. If i recall correctly, the initial estimate for 15's was June. Then I think a couple of the dealer blogs posted sept/oct.. who knows.

I want another 77 barlow in canvas micarta, but with a clip main blade and a caplifter as a secondary blade this time. That would make me a very happy camper!!!

I missed reserving a TC Barlow # 14... heard this AM that my Standby status came up empty. The Copperhead Bone on the GEC page looks like a beautiful knife, but I'm curious about its size relative to other patterns.

Once they start to arrive, I know there will be lots of pics, but if someone who has this lineup could post a pic of the #14 TC Barlow, a #15 Barlow and a #77 Medium Barlow together for perspective, I would certainly appreciate it, just to satisfy my curiousity. Thanks!

That would be sweet. Heck I just want to see canvas micarta of any color used on more knives. Not a fan of the linen or paper versions.

Yeah. I was totally bummed with last year's micarta Beer Scout, which ended up being paper micarta. Kind of boring looking. The only linen that I really love is the red. I've used it to make SAK scales in the past, and it looks nice. But beyond that, canvas all the way. It has so much more character.

So true!

I want to vent about something. I was patiently waiting for the single blade 14 barlows to pop up for sale on Gunstock's site. 3:00pm EST arrived, and so did the barlows, so I put 3 in my cart. I tried to create an account, but the site froze. So I refreshed and went to just check out through Paypal. Well, it froze again during checkout, so after my 3rd refresh, which finally went through, all the knives were gone.

It pissed me off. I was there. I had them in the cart.

So to assuage my bereavement, I went and sharpened up my Burnt Orange Jigged Bone #15 from the recent release, and all became well again with the keen-ness of this edge. Push cuts and mirror polish galore!

And this is the nature of the beast.

Ive been awaiting "drops" for art prints\posters that didnt last 30 seconds.
And we're talking 250+ prints, gone, in the blink of an eye.

I had something similar happen recently, at a different online store. I was trying to buy a jigged bone #15 clip point. I accidentally had 2 old items in my cart, and removing the old items would not work from my ipad. By the time I got the site up on my laptop, the 15's were all gone. So frustrating.

Oi. Yes. I hope you snag one off the exchange, they're starting to trickle in. Now I'm hoping for the 77 Barlows to come with stainless blades.
