Lets talk GEC!

Even though I can't be there, I think it's only right that those that do make the trip have a special knife to commemorate the trip.

That said, I'd jump on one if these were available online!

Exactly. Those look like a great treat for the persons lucky enough to make the trip.

Does anyone know if the #66 Moose Jack's are on a single spring and "slim"? I can't seem to find a pic that shows them from the top or bottom. Those primitive bone Bullwinkle blades are beckoning to me.

If you can find an example as good as this - bone texture/colour, nicely set pins, then I'd advise snapping it up, it's a magnificent item.

Your questions about single-spring have been answered but I'd like to add this. I'm a zealous fan of single-spring knives (the recent 66 Slim is a particularly good example too) but I suspect that a knife like the Bullwinkle that sports two full size sturdy blades/Clip&Spear/would find find it difficult to accomodate these very well on one spring. Muskrats can sometimes do it but they have slim Turkish Clip blades.

Thanks guys, I'm getting excited for this one to arrive. Now I need to figure out which knives to put on the chopping block......hanging out on this website is getting expensive!!!! :D

No kidding!!

A question for you GEC dealers, anyone know whether they will use the Seas Glass Acrylic or Turquoise Acrylic on any more runs or knives? I ran across these two and love how they look. Are the prices substantially higher for these handle materials, any chance we'd see these on some patterns they haven't been on before?

Sometimes I want to talk about a new pattern I spy on Great Eastern's site and dont feel it needs its own thread. I have also noted general questions about one knife asked in other threads that go unnoticed. This is an effort to give us a place to talk about these things.....

Bring on your random GEC pics, trivia, questions or whatever :)

I'm bumping this thread, and Jeff's prescient first post, to continue to encourage members new and old to continue to post GEC queries, one-off questions, and general quonversation, er, conversation herein. ;)

Here's my own latest GEC, a Radio Jack which came for a short visit clad in acrylic, traveled to NH for some new clothes, and is now back with me looking migh-ty fine:

That's a real looker Pertinux! Did Glen do the rehandle for you? Looks fantastic!

I really like how that turned out! Blue bone is so unique & rarely ever used. :)

Yes, this is Glennbad's excellent work, using bone I acquired from Culpepper and sent along with the knife. [I'm so very picky, I wanted to be sure of the 'blue' before sending it to Glenn. It's brighter than one might have expected given the original pieces, but I'm very pleased.]

I'll try to post some before and after pictures in a Radio Jack thread soon. :)

Well said. Let's cut down on new thread clutter. :)
