Lets talk GEC!

Exactly what I was going to ask. Is the problem with lazy secondaries only on the 2017 run? Or is it more of across the board issue?

I too am very happy with the snap on both blades on my #66, but mine is the slim version, where secondary blade rides on the same spring as the main blade.

And being so surprisingly happy with this pattern, I was looking into acquiring also standard stockman version. But lazy secondaries would make me reconsider.

This looks a lot like an Ebony Churchill

Nor me, not heard of it but it looks fantastic! They should offer it on folding knives too:cool: But, it might be rather hazardous to produce? What with the dust etc but it has a practical look to it as well, great find my friend

All the best, Will

Here’s a question for you all:

If you could only have one knife (perish the thought), would it be GEC? and if so, what pattern would you choose?

Are you nuts?

If I could only have one knife, it would be in no way a GEC. It would be either a Bose or Erickson, with a more wear resistant steel than 1095. GEC makes excellent knives, but there are better ones.

True there are better knives made, however 1095 was used hard by old timers for 25, 30, 40 years or more. I will never use my knife that hard, therefore I can go with what I like and not have to pick the most bestest knife made.

I'm on board with this response. In fact it most definitely wouldn't be a GEC. Too many wonderful choices out there.

But what if I also like knives other than those GEC makes? o_O

There are more knives in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of by GEC.
