Lets talk GEC!

Great news everyone! I am holding my Pemberton after it made its trip back to Titusville and it’s return trip home. I shipped it out on the 4th and I got it back 24 days later. The blade wobble with the blade closed is fixed! No notes about what they did or any correspondence whatsoever, but I’m happy to have it back. Makes me feel great about buying these knives. Kudos GEC!

I got the feeling he was kidding, but you never really know with Randy lol :D He's a riot to talk with. Very passionate about the knives.
I think he is serious to be honest, but it sounds like we'll never know for sure. Probably.

Quote from a GEC employee in a FB group: "The reason you probably not seeing anything new is because the next knife is totally new totally off-the-wall totally not ours and totally not our distributors. We have nothing to do with it other than the fact of manufacturing it. Let us not count that in this list of what we think is next. But what is next is not anything listed. It will be unprecedented in form and delivery and never before done by gec"

A switchblade maybe.
That would be traditional, and also practical. :)
I would want at least one.
4 1/2" - 5+" long

They've done those in the past though, so not totally new.

Norcaldude Norcaldude as I recall you had one of those rare switch blades and got rid of it because it wasn’t Cali legal. I think it would be novel to own one for a while, but I wouldn’t feel good carrying one in public.

I had no idea GEC has made switch blades. I was foolin', suggesting that.
What model number were they? I'll go onto the company website and check'em out.

Are you pulling my leg Norcaldude?

I actually replaced it just recently. Still not legal to carry here in Cali but it's a neat item and it's on the 73 pattern which I like a lot.

Thanks for the link to the video Norcaldude.
I had seen pictures of that knife, but I never got that the knife was a switchblade. Cooool!

You wouldn’t feel good carrying one in public. Is it the stigma of a folding knife with a spring in it or is it unlawful in your state? I am not trying to be sharp just curious

unlawful in CT for a blade longer than an inch, but really you’d have to draw attention to it before you ever got busted carrying it. CT is full of a bunch of sheep though, and certain perfectly legal knifes draw bad attention.

I hope GEC isn’t going out of business! I wish everyone there the best of health.
I doubt it with all the processes they’ve recently added to increase their output. They also just honored a warranty for me, which isn’t something I’d expect a failing company to do. I suspect they’re going to surprise us with something.

It’s now 11 days since the last report on knife production. Interesting. When they do this my breakfast doesn’t taste as good as it did.
Up to 13 days now. This is unprecedented in my memory, and I've been watching that blog for an awful long time. What are they cooking?

Sorry to be off topic guys but I’ve got a 85 tiger maple I want to put up for trade and can’t post in the trade forum? Do I have to be a paid member? Or is there a post minimum before I’m allowed? Thanks
