This is the mammoth ivory I was able to snag. First Northwoods so I'm pretty excited.

This was the one I tired second after I failed on a black one. You beat me. I got a darker brown one, thankfully. This would have matched my fall creek. Enjoy, it is gorgeous. Perfect match.

Well thanks to checking this thread and seeing they were slowly releasing them… I hopped back on after all of my checkout errors and I did score! I got a Kudu bone… of course wanted mammoth but I’m happy I got something. It was a blind grab, I literally scrolled and clicked on one as fast as I could and I got lucky.

While this Kudo would not my choice, I already told a buddy he can have it at cost when I get it in.




Did you guys see the color in some of these? Amazing….

I was really hoping for a blueberry burlap, but couldn’t find them in the scramble, so I ended up with a beautiful Kudu bone instead. Would probably be willing to trade once it comes in if anyone had the opposite problem haha

So there were 300+ bone covers, in addition to six different synthetic covers? Do anyone know how many synthetic covers were released? Are we talking a 100 each? If so, a 1000 knives in a matter of minutes from a single site?

The tragedy in my opinion is that less than 50% of these knives will ever cut anything.

Probably closer to 525-550. Some of the synthetics were stragglers. But still your point is valid.

Even then, 500 from a single retailer...

Aren't GEC releases normally say 300 - 500 but dispersed over handful of different retailers?

I'd guess our forum knife run will probably be in that range. If you look at the production history on GEC's site, it's not rare for them to run that many or all sell from 1 retailer.

I was looking through all the bone and mammoth while rocking the little one to sleep tonight. Kudu bone never ceases to amaze me with its variation and depth.

I did too, which is a bummer because I might have actually made it in time to see the drop. Regardless, it sounds like I missed out on a headache . Congrats to those that scored and as I said earlier, it's fun seeing all the variety in the ivory and bone.
